About the Role
As our AI foundation model products continue to scale, we are expanding our business into international markets and strengthening our global AI capabilities. We are looking for a Chief Scientist – Foundation Models to lead our core AI research and development, define the company’s foundation model technology roadmap, and drive the transition of cutting-edge AI research into scalable products and applications for global markets.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- Education
Master’s degree or above from a world-class university in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a related field. Candidates from MIT, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Ivy League universities, or other globally top-ranked institutions are highly preferred. MIT candidates are particularly preferred.
- Professional Experience
8+ years of experience in AI and large language model research and development, with deep expertise in Foundation Models, LLMs, Pre-training, Post-training, Reasoning, RLHF/RL, and other core AI technologies.
- Leading Technology Company Background
Candidates with experience at leading global or Chinese AI/technology companies are strongly preferred, particularly those who have worked on large-scale AI research and development programs or served in key technical roles on major foundation model projects.
- Foundation Model Expertise
Deep hands-on experience across the foundation model lifecycle, including data, model architecture, pre-training, post-training, alignment, and inference optimization. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of large-scale model training systems and the latest evolution of foundation model technologies.
- Technical Achievements & Industry Impact
Candidates who have led or played a core role in training well-known foundation models are strongly preferred. Demonstrated industry impact in areas such as model capabilities, training efficiency, reasoning, alignment, or inference will be highly valued. High-impact publications, patents, open-source projects, or recognized contributions to major AI models are a strong plus.
- Global Perspective
Strong international perspective and a deep understanding of the global AI landscape. Ability to identify emerging AI technologies and translate global market needs into model capabilities and product innovation.
- Technical Leadership
Strong technical vision, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities, with the ability to define the company’s AI technology roadmap, build a world-class international AI research team, and drive innovation from research and model training through productization and global market deployment.
